Dear readers/citizens of the world

It's time you started paying for your general news information.

Maybe the problem with journalism isn't figuring out how to make money off of web advertisements. Maybe it's not about SEO and CPM and CPV ... maybe it comes down to two options:

1) Readers pay for the professional journalism they want. Start charging subscriptions and cost per article. Period. Done and done.

or

2) Journalism becomes Wikipedia. Everyone gets access, everyone edits stories. There are no more professional journalists or editors. We rely on society to correct the errors.

I don't really know anymore, about journalism about business about whatever. I do know that without fail every single day some one in my newsroom makes a joke about layoffs, or the paper disappearing or something equally depressing.

And I'm a little over it.
